What's been going on...

Seriously it has been a CRAZY past 8 weeks (I can't believe it has only been 8 weeks It seems like an eternity) I am working on trying to blog it all now that life has settled down some. Chad gets to go back to work this week (he is ready to not be the mom and dad and chef and gardner and everything else anymore) He has been AMAZING!! I can't say enough about how lucky I am to have such an awesome involved and supportive husband. He was able to take a leave of absence from work when Jack had his accident. I couldn't get a leave so I planned to go back to work as soon as he got out of the hospital. That lasted a whole week before Ryan decided to make his appearance. Chad had planned to be off with jack for 6-8 weeks anyway since he would need to go up to the doctor and other things for a while and luckily he was still off to help with Ryan and allow me to be at the hospital with him as much as I needed to be. Anyway I jsut needed to document how amazing he is. He helps so much with the kids and will even get up in the night and feed the baby sometimes when I jsut can't drag my self out of bed. Everynight I head to bed when Jack does and Chad keeps Ryan until he comes to bed so I can get a few hours of "good" sleep. It has made a HUGE difference and I'm a little nervous of what life will be like this weekend when I'm alone with both boys for 5 days. Chad will still be here in the evening to help with dinner and getting Jack ready for bed, but he will have to come to bed earlier and I will have to drag myself out of bed and try to not let the baby wake him up as much. We'll see how it goes. I'm going to head back to work in a couple weeks and Ryan is so small that the doctor suggests we dont take him anywhere until he is 3 months. Luckily Chad and I's schedules ussually only overlap 1 day a week and my awesome supportive parents have offered to help on those days. I seriously am so lucky to have to many close by that can and will help us! Anyway I will work on getting pictures and stories up soon!

Growing up

So there are good things and bad things about Jack growing up. I know he is only 2 but isn't doing much of anything "baby" or hardly what you would originally think as "toddler" he is more of a "little kid" now. Some of the things that I have noticed the most the past couple weeks are is acting like a "2 year old" and his defiance in sleep patterns that he has been SO great with the since he was 10 weeks old! He has somehow learned how to be a bully the past couple weeks. Not sure if there is a kid that fights with him at the new babysitters or if it is all of the KungFoo Panda he watched there for a while (it has since disappeared) Either way my sweet little monkey has become a bully 2 year old. We are working on it.
The other thing that has been happening WAY too much lately is my angel that would sleep 13 hours a night and still take a 2 hour nap everyday with NO fighting, has become defiant! At first it was just at night, he would get up 2-5 times before he went to sleep. At first I tried talking to him but he just wasn't getting it. Oh another skill that has aided him in this is that he has learned to open doors. I love that he can get around the house alone and out of his room in the morning and everything but when it is while he is supposed to be sleeping I am not a huge fan. So some nights I try and lay by him to get him to go to sleep (after he has gotten up a couple times) but the other night we had had enough. He was SO tired and grouchy so when we put him to bed the second time we told him if he got up again we would spank his bum and it would hurt. That seemed to work I didn't see him again until morning. Well the next night the warning didn't work, we actually had to follow through and spank him the third time. But that worked, didn't see him until morning. Well last night I was exhausted and tried to go to bed early so Chad put him to bed. I couldn't deal with the spanking yelling and crying so I went in and layed by him until he fell asleep. Then at 1 am my pregnant bladder woke me up and low and behold there was a cute little 2 year old sitting on the floor by our bed. Not all the way sure what to do about this kid. I have a hard time sleeping and staying asleep I'm hoping he doesn't have similar issues. either way we are trying something today..... no nap.... Yeah not my most favorite day so far (I NEED nap time too!) but hopefully he will be better about sleeping tonight. Wish us luck!!

IT'S A BOY!!!

Almost 6 weeks ago we had a ultrasound with maternal fetal medicine. Usually you can't tell gender at that young of an age, but we saw something that resembled boy parts. There was still a small chance that it could have been cord, but we were pretty sure that we were having another boy. Well yesterday we had our 20 week ultrasound at the doctors office. We got the confirmation that it was a boy. We are so excited to have 2 little boys together and hope they become good buddies. Well about half way through the ultrasound it came out that we were going to have another one with maternal fetal medicine the next day. The girl got a little upset saying that we didn't need both and cut it short. We didn't get many pictures and none that were very good shots. At the time we didn't worry about it because we knew we had the other scan coming up. Well we went today and everything looks really good with the baby, no problems. Well I guess my placenta was a little low lying, but the doctor bet us her next 3 paychecks that it would migrate up. I'm really hoping that it doesn't!!! I know that means I will have to have a c-section, but I would also get a sweet payday! ;) So with all of the great shots we got of this little guy we only got 1 picture printed out and the only reason they printed it was because it was one if the biggest she has ever seen. I had to document this just so that in 15 years I can embarrass him with it. hope I don't get in trouble for posting things of an inappropriate nature!

HOWDY PARTNER!

Jack has been really into his Woody doll the past few days and he was getting really upset that Woody's hat didn't fit him. So we found a hat for him and some old boots that Chad had from when he was little. He had a hard time standing in the boots at first but now I can't get them off him.

Easter

So Jack is young enough that we can get away with not making a big deal about holidays still (unfortunately I think that will end soon) My family has a get together everyyear and my parents do a big egg hunt. Unfortunately my dad has is lawn fertilized that morning so we had the hunt inside again. They let all the little kids come in first and get the "easy eggs" then the big kids came in and finished it off. But I will say that I was over there the other day looking for something and did find another hidden egg! Luckily they were all plastic!

2 years old!!! (a couple months ago!)

I know I am terrible about keeing up on this blog, but I do want to try to do better!

Jack turned 2 over 2 months ago and he is such a BIG kid. I took him to the doctor with me and we weighed him and he was a wopping 35 lbs. The nurse asked how old he was I said he just turned 2 and she said he is the same size as her 3 1/2 yo. He is just a big kid!

Anyway my camera died on his birthday so i got a couple pictures of him and his cake and the rest are on my phone I will try to get those off and add them to this eventually.

i made him a lego cake he LOVES his blocks, unfortunately I never got a picture of the whole cake.
Two year old attitude!

EXCITEMENT!!!

When I was little i used to throw upo almost EVERY Christmas morning. Not because I was sick every year but because I was so excited that I would make myself sick. That is exactly how I feel right now. ( I know part of it might be the pregnant thing) We are leaving today for a WEEK at Disneyland. I LOVE that place! I haven't been in nearly 4 years and I'm so excited to take Jack and have a great time! I seriously can hardly stand it. You should understand that by the simple fact that I'm blogging about it. Seriously I haven't even put in Christmas or Jacks birthday but I needed to write about this? Anyway I am excited!!!

How do you find joy in something you HATE??

So, I know it has been forever since I have posted anything and this isn't cute or exciting but I just need to write it somewhere. One thing that I have been thinking about ALOT lately is how bad I am at being a "housewife" I absolutely hate and find no joy in cleaning my house or doing laundry or cooking or any of that "mom" stuff. It is really frusterating not only for me but Chad too. He is great and will ignore it for a while then he goes crazy and has to have a frustrated day and clean everything up. Then I feel even worse that I let it get to that point. So basically it is somehting that I am going to try and work VERY hard on. I just really wish that I could figure out how to love it. (or at least not hate and dispise it so much) To add to the troiuble I'm BEYOND tired ALL the time. For you that don't know I'm pregnant again (due end of september) and I'm sick and tired all the time. But life has to go on and our house needs to be livable. Anyway I will stop grumbling and go do the dishes or something. I promise to post something fun soon.

What's for dinner this week?

So I haven't done a very good job at cooking as much as Chad would like. I have the hardest time coming up with what to cook, then when something does sound good I never have all of the ingredients. So Chad agreed that he would come up with options and even do the grocery shopping for them, if I would cook more. I am hoping it will work out ( and so is he)
So I decided that I would document what I cook incase that any of the 3 of you that read this have the same problem with ideas can have a couple more. Also i can look back and remember what we did and if it was any good.

Chicken and Broccoli curry
Taco Pie
Beef Strogonoff

i should probably put in recipes too but we'll see

PUMBP-PUMP (jackese for pumpkin)

I wanted to get the house clean and decorated for Halloween before I was layed up for a bit. I didn't want to do anything scary since there are so many little kids in our neighborhood, so I decided that I wanted a bunch of pumpkins to put around our porch. Our house is surrounded by fields and the ones that weren't corn are pumpkins. One in particular, a couple blocks down the street, is set up for kids to come and pick thier own pumpkins so off we went. I'm sure Chad and I had as much fun or more than Jack did and I have to admit that I probably went "a little" overboard, but I really like the final product.

I sent Chad on a quest to find the BIGGEST pumpkin he could find. He found the best ones in the far back corner (obviously noone else wanted to hike out that far) this is what he came back with.

I wanted all different sizes, shapes and colors, Chad was an awesome picker. There were so many varieties to choose from.
Jack finally got comfortable walking through all the vines and over the mounds of dirt that made up the rows and he was off on a quest of his own

.

This is the final product, Even thought I got a ton of pumpkins I still think I need a few more, a couple for the other side of the stairs and another big one to help hold up the straw. We'll have to see what else we can find.
I tried to get Jack to say "cheese" and he just kept covering his mouth

So we went for the classic "how big is Jack" at least his hands aren't over his face.

Little Green Fuzzies

I'm so excited, I have been a little nervous about our backyard and the weather we have been having the past couple weeks. The packaging on the grass seed said that we should start seeing something after 10-14 days. It has been about 16 days and I was starting to get worried, but I came home from work the other day and Chad ran me out to the backyard to see the surprise....

TRANSFORMATION OF THE HAIRY BEAST

Believe it or not these pictures were taken on the same day and yes they both really are my cute husband.
So Chad went on this great fishing trip with most of the boys in my family a couple weeks ago up in Alaska. For those of you that don't know him he is excessively annal about getting his hair cut every few weeks. I have wanted to see what it looks like a little longer so that the curl comes out better, but it makes him crazy so I have yet to win that one. But I did get him to grow his hair out for nearly 3 weeks longer than he would have liked and he didn't shave for over 2 weeks before his trip. This is what he looked like when he came home.

(I kindof like it!)
And this is later that evening

YARD!!! well sprinklers

A few of my brothers and a couple of our friends came over and helped us get the rest of our trenches dug and pipe layed in our back yard...... THANKS!!! It took much longer than I expected and we weren't near,ly as ready as I thought we were but everyone was great to come and help anyway.
Jack Just liked playing the the pipes, dirt and cousins.
Corry is pretty mannly don't you think? even Tyler came out and played in the dirt for a few minutes. As always Dad was the leader... but we had no idea what we were doing so we let him lead.
The kids brought over the wiggle cars and kept themselves busy on those and...
Riding the 4-wheeler around the empty lot behind us!

Gooodbye hair!

It has been too long since Jack got a haircut, it was starting to get scary amounts of long. So we decided that since it was summer we would just get rid of it all. We took him out in the back yard and buzzed of all of those long locks!
The before picture

(apparently I had to work hard to get it all off!)

After he was covered in hair, so we took him to the front yard and hosed him off... He LOVED it!

(I tried to post a video too so you could hear him laughing at it all, but couldn't get it to work)

The after picture.

Moving day!

So I know it has been over a months but I would like to thank my AWESOME sisters for helping us move! I wasn't very good at taking pictures but here are a few of all of the strong girls.

Jana brought some "forearm forklifts" you may have seen them on infomercials but doubted their true effectiveness. I am here to tell you they are a movers best friend. This entertainment center is SO heavy. Chad and Tyler had a rediculously hard time getting it into the new house (we forgot the straps at the old place) but Jana and Lori were able to get it out to the trailer without any problem. Good job girls!

So the Chad only had friday to move so all of the boys were working. So all the girls brought their kids to grandma and grandpa's house, Missy and Fuzzy watched them and the girls all moved. Thanks!

a few pictures up... finally!

So we finally got around to hanging a few pictures in our house. There is still ALOT to go, but here is a peek at some of the things we have done. Sorry about the mess!
Oh and a cute picture of Jack!

Outside fun!

Loving the weather! We have been spending alot more time outside. Where we live in my parents' basement, we have a walkout basement with no steps or anything, so we will leave the door open and Jack will just come in and out and loves to find rocks and sticks and anything else that he can see.
It has gotten to be pretty warm so we decided to get a little pool that we can put in the yard and Jack can play in. The first day we didn't get him out there till after dinner. I was just going to put his feet in to see what he would think.... needless to say he LOVED it and I didn't get him out for about 30 minutes. Also, in the evenings we have been going and hanging out in the front yard (where there isn't big dog poop) so that we can play on the grass. Sally (our puppy)(name from Cars) loves to run around and play in the flower beds (my dad hates it, think she will ruin his flowers) and we are trying to get Jack to be less afraid of the grass.

The other day Chad was mowing the lawn and Jack freaks out, seruious melt down freak out, whenever there is loud noises. This includes the blow dryer, vaccume and lawn mower, I'm sure I will find more things as time goes by. He did ok the other day when I held him while I vacumed so I asked Chad to let Jack help to see if he would do better. It helped, mostly. but it made for a cute picture.
