What's been going on...

Seriously it has been a CRAZY past 8 weeks (I can't believe it has only been 8 weeks It seems like an eternity) I am working on trying to blog it all now that life has settled down some. Chad gets to go back to work this week (he is ready to not be the mom and dad and chef and gardner and everything else anymore) He has been AMAZING!! I can't say enough about how lucky I am to have such an awesome involved and supportive husband. He was able to take a leave of absence from work when Jack had his accident. I couldn't get a leave so I planned to go back to work as soon as he got out of the hospital. That lasted a whole week before Ryan decided to make his appearance. Chad had planned to be off with jack for 6-8 weeks anyway since he would need to go up to the doctor and other things for a while and luckily he was still off to help with Ryan and allow me to be at the hospital with him as much as I needed to be. Anyway I jsut needed to document how amazing he is. He helps so much with the kids and will even get up in the night and feed the baby sometimes when I jsut can't drag my self out of bed. Everynight I head to bed when Jack does and Chad keeps Ryan until he comes to bed so I can get a few hours of "good" sleep. It has made a HUGE difference and I'm a little nervous of what life will be like this weekend when I'm alone with both boys for 5 days. Chad will still be here in the evening to help with dinner and getting Jack ready for bed, but he will have to come to bed earlier and I will have to drag myself out of bed and try to not let the baby wake him up as much. We'll see how it goes. I'm going to head back to work in a couple weeks and Ryan is so small that the doctor suggests we dont take him anywhere until he is 3 months. Luckily Chad and I's schedules ussually only overlap 1 day a week and my awesome supportive parents have offered to help on those days. I seriously am so lucky to have to many close by that can and will help us! Anyway I will work on getting pictures and stories up soon!

Growing up

So there are good things and bad things about Jack growing up. I know he is only 2 but isn't doing much of anything "baby" or hardly what you would originally think as "toddler" he is more of a "little kid" now. Some of the things that I have noticed the most the past couple weeks are is acting like a "2 year old" and his defiance in sleep patterns that he has been SO great with the since he was 10 weeks old! He has somehow learned how to be a bully the past couple weeks. Not sure if there is a kid that fights with him at the new babysitters or if it is all of the KungFoo Panda he watched there for a while (it has since disappeared) Either way my sweet little monkey has become a bully 2 year old. We are working on it.
The other thing that has been happening WAY too much lately is my angel that would sleep 13 hours a night and still take a 2 hour nap everyday with NO fighting, has become defiant! At first it was just at night, he would get up 2-5 times before he went to sleep. At first I tried talking to him but he just wasn't getting it. Oh another skill that has aided him in this is that he has learned to open doors. I love that he can get around the house alone and out of his room in the morning and everything but when it is while he is supposed to be sleeping I am not a huge fan. So some nights I try and lay by him to get him to go to sleep (after he has gotten up a couple times) but the other night we had had enough. He was SO tired and grouchy so when we put him to bed the second time we told him if he got up again we would spank his bum and it would hurt. That seemed to work I didn't see him again until morning. Well the next night the warning didn't work, we actually had to follow through and spank him the third time. But that worked, didn't see him until morning. Well last night I was exhausted and tried to go to bed early so Chad put him to bed. I couldn't deal with the spanking yelling and crying so I went in and layed by him until he fell asleep. Then at 1 am my pregnant bladder woke me up and low and behold there was a cute little 2 year old sitting on the floor by our bed. Not all the way sure what to do about this kid. I have a hard time sleeping and staying asleep I'm hoping he doesn't have similar issues. either way we are trying something today..... no nap.... Yeah not my most favorite day so far (I NEED nap time too!) but hopefully he will be better about sleeping tonight. Wish us luck!!

IT'S A BOY!!!

Almost 6 weeks ago we had a ultrasound with maternal fetal medicine. Usually you can't tell gender at that young of an age, but we saw something that resembled boy parts. There was still a small chance that it could have been cord, but we were pretty sure that we were having another boy. Well yesterday we had our 20 week ultrasound at the doctors office. We got the confirmation that it was a boy. We are so excited to have 2 little boys together and hope they become good buddies. Well about half way through the ultrasound it came out that we were going to have another one with maternal fetal medicine the next day. The girl got a little upset saying that we didn't need both and cut it short. We didn't get many pictures and none that were very good shots. At the time we didn't worry about it because we knew we had the other scan coming up. Well we went today and everything looks really good with the baby, no problems. Well I guess my placenta was a little low lying, but the doctor bet us her next 3 paychecks that it would migrate up. I'm really hoping that it doesn't!!! I know that means I will have to have a c-section, but I would also get a sweet payday! ;) So with all of the great shots we got of this little guy we only got 1 picture printed out and the only reason they printed it was because it was one if the biggest she has ever seen. I had to document this just so that in 15 years I can embarrass him with it. hope I don't get in trouble for posting things of an inappropriate nature!
